Terms of Use
Last updated: October 19, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of homeguardjournal.com and its content (the “Site”). This website is owned and operated by Berry Leads LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (“we,” “us” or “our”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Eligibility
The Site is intended for adults. By using it, you represent that you are at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, and able to enter into these Terms.
2. Informational purposes only; not legal advice
All content on the Site, including articles about concealed carry, permits, reciprocity, firearms storage, training, home security and emergency preparedness, is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not legal advice, and no attorney-client or other professional relationship is created by your use of the Site or by communicating with us. Laws governing firearms, carry permits, storage and the use of force vary by state and locality and change frequently. You are solely responsible for knowing and complying with all laws that apply to you. Always check your state’s current rules with official sources and consult a qualified attorney about your specific situation.
3. Safety and personal responsibility
Handling firearms involves inherent risks. Nothing on the Site replaces hands-on instruction from a qualified instructor. You assume full responsibility for your decisions and actions, including how you acquire, carry, store, handle and use any firearm or other equipment, and for following all applicable safety practices and laws.
4. Third-party links, advertising and partner programs
The Site contains advertising and links to third-party websites, programs and services, and we may receive compensation in connection with them, as described in our Advertising Disclosure. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, products, services, policies or practices. Any transaction you enter into with a third party is solely between you and that third party and is governed by its terms. We do not guarantee any outcome from a third-party program, including whether any permit, license or certification will be issued; those decisions rest with the relevant government authorities.
5. Intellectual property
The Site and its content, including text, graphics, images, logos and design, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and print content for your personal, non-commercial use, provided you keep all copyright and other notices intact. You may not otherwise copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, republish or create derivative works from the content without our prior written permission.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- scrape, crawl or harvest content or data from the Site by automated means without our permission, except as permitted by our robots.txt file for search indexing;
- interfere with or disrupt the Site, its servers or networks, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of them;
- introduce viruses or other harmful code; or
- impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
7. Submissions
If you send us comments, suggestions or other materials, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license to use them in connection with the Site and our business, without compensation to you. Please do not send confidential information.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT AND ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE CONTENT IS COMPLETE, CURRENT OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR SECURE.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR ITS CONTENT, OR ANY THIRD-PARTY PRODUCT, SERVICE OR PROGRAM, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Berry Leads LLC and its members, managers, employees, contractors and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
11. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Sheridan County, Wyoming, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
12. Changes and termination
We may modify these Terms at any time by posting the revised version on the Site and updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. We may suspend or discontinue the Site, or your access to it, at any time.
13. General
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Advertising Disclosure, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site.
