Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used and shared when you visit homeguardjournal.com (the “Site”). This website is owned and operated by Berry Leads LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (“Berry Leads,” “we,” “us” or “our”), which publishes Home Guard Journal. By using the Site, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
If you email us or use our contact form, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your name, email address and the contents of your message. If you sign up for any newsletter or offer we make available in the future, we will collect the information requested on that form.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, our hosting and content delivery providers automatically record standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed and the date and time of your visit. We may also use cookies and similar technologies, as described below.
Information from partners
If you click a link to a partner’s offer, the partner may tell us that a visit, sign-up or purchase occurred so that we can be credited. These reports typically contain transaction identifiers rather than your name, but they may include limited information about the transaction.
2. How we use information
- To operate, maintain, secure and improve the Site.
- To respond to your questions, corrections and requests.
- To understand how readers use the Site, such as which articles are read most.
- To display advertising and to measure the performance of advertising and partner programs.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
3. Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We and our service providers may use cookies, pixels, local storage and similar technologies to remember your preferences, understand how the Site is used, and measure advertising. These may include:
- Essential technologies needed to deliver and secure the Site.
- Analytics technologies that help us understand traffic and usage in aggregate. Analytics providers may collect information such as pages visited and time spent on the Site.
- Advertising technologies used by us or our advertising partners to deliver, measure and, in some cases, personalize advertising, both on and off the Site.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works. Many advertising companies also offer opt-out tools through industry programs for interest-based advertising.
4. Advertising partners and affiliate links
Home Guard Journal is supported by advertising and by partner programs. Some links on the Site lead to third-party websites, programs or services, and we may receive compensation when you click them or complete an action. When you leave the Site, the third party’s privacy policy and terms govern your interactions with it, including any information you submit. We encourage you to review those policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.
5. How we share information
We may share information with:
- Service providers that host the Site, deliver content, provide analytics, send email or otherwise help us operate, under obligations to protect the information.
- Advertising and partner companies, through cookies and similar technologies or through conversion reports, as described above.
- Legal and safety recipients, when we believe disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of our readers, us or others.
- Successors, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of all or part of our business.
We do not sell personal information for money. However, some sharing with advertising partners through cookies and similar technologies may be considered a “sale,” “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under certain state laws. See “Your US state privacy rights” below for how to opt out.
6. Data retention and security
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including legal, accounting and security needs. We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
7. Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or from anyone under 16 for the purposes of selling or sharing it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your choices
- Cookies: use your browser settings or industry opt-out tools to limit cookies and interest-based advertising.
- Global Privacy Control: where required by applicable law, we treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising for that browser.
- Email: if you receive marketing email from us, you can unsubscribe using the link in the message.
- Do Not Track: there is no common industry standard for “Do Not Track” browser signals, so the Site does not respond to them, apart from honoring Global Privacy Control as described above.
9. Your US state privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Virginia and other states with consumer privacy laws, you may have some or all of the following rights, subject to exceptions:
